Santa Clara Review is published in February and May by Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California. We accept submissions of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, essays, drama/screenplays, art work, and photography year round.
Reprinting Accepted Submissions
Materials published in the Santa Clara Review may not be reprinted, in whole or part, without the written permission of the editors or originators.
Process
We thoroughly review and consider all submissions for publication. Because we operate on an academic schedule and as we publish only twice per year, please expect to wait up to six months to hear back from us. If your piece is selected, we will notify you by mail approximately two months prior to publication. Please return your signed acceptance letter within two weeks to ensure timely publication.
Guidelines for Submissions
To ensure proper and thorough consideration of each piece, please limit your submissions according to the following guidelines: For poetry, please submit no more than five poems, not to exceed ten pages in length. For fiction and nonfiction, please limit your submission to 5,000 words or less. Most pieces we publish are between 2,000-4,000 words.
